It's been a very quiet week in Oiler Land. The only rumors that I have heard of (you know it's quiet when I start talking about rumors!) are Petre Sykora is about to sign with the Oilers with a one year contract for around $3 to $2.5 million. The other rumor floating around is the possibility of Brian Leetch.
I don't really believe either of these rumors. The Sykora rumor doesn't make much sense from the stand point that the Oilers are already pretty deep up front. The Brian Leetch rumor only makes sense from the standpoint that the Oilers need some help on the back end. Leetch would be a pretty expensive gamble. He's older, expensive and slowing down, not Oiler traits.
Another rumor that I've also heard is the Oilers trading for Ducks defencemen Vitaly Vishnevski. I don't really like the sounds of this one at all - anyone that only scores 1 goal and gets 8 points in 82 games isn't exactly a great player, heck a trained monkey can get 8 points in 82 games.
That's it for now.
